🐾 Hi, I'm Nina — you can adopt me from afar!

There are stories that break your heart.
And then there are souls like Nina… who, despite everything, continue to trust humans.
Sotto la Panca OdV is asking for your help for her today.
Real help. Concrete help. A symbolic adoption that will allow us to finally give her the life she deserves.
Nina was found in Catania on the night of Cyclone Henry. 

Two young people saw her on the ground, hit by a car while being chased by other dogs.
They could have left. Pretended not to see.
Instead, they stopped.
Nina was motionless.
With a severe pulmonary hemorrhage, terrified, and with a leg that was already compromised and she could no longer use.
She was admitted to the clinic and treated urgently.

Then welcomed into the home of one of our founding members, where she slowly began to heal.
Subsequently, she was transferred to a shelter that had decided to host her, but unfortunately something went wrong.

We don't know what really happened, we only know that Nina, frightened and fragile, bit another dog.
From that moment on, she was isolated in a closed part of the shelter.
But Nina didn't want to be there.
She desperately tried to get out, until she suffered a severe laceration to her paw.

She lost a lot of blood.
And to save her life, amputation of her paw, at the shoulder, was necessary.

Today Nina is safe again, once again welcomed into the home of one of our founding members.
She is fighting with all her might to heal.

But soon she will have to be transferred to the sanctuary.
And there she will need a protected, safe space, with adequate fences to prevent her from getting lost or hurt.
Because Nina today is a three-legged dog.
And the world, for a fragile and traumatized dog, can become a very difficult place.
We don't want Nina to be forgotten.
We don't want her life to be made only of pain, clinics, and fear.
We want to give her a forever home.
Even if that home, for now, we have to build it piece by piece.
With the symbolic adoption of Nina, you will help us support her care, her future protected area at the sanctuary, and everything she will need to finally live in peace.
Because every saved life is a huge responsibility.
