Mia arrived at Santuario Sotto la Panca when she was a tiny, fragile, and completely defenseless kitten.

She was just over a month old and had been abandoned in front of the sweet Miss Chiaretta's house.

Small, alone, and in need of help.

Miss Chiaretta didn't turn away: she took her in, kept her safe, and made sure she came to us.

But when Mia arrived at the Sanctuary, something wonderful happened.

Victoria chose to welcome her

Our beautiful mother Victoria, whom we also call Cipolletta, had arrived at the Sanctuary with her little ones Pretty, Lucy, and Desy.

When Mia entered their lives, Victoria welcomed her.

She let her approach, nursed her, and offered her the warmth and protection she needed.

Mia was not her biological daughter. Yet she grew up with the other little ones, becoming part of the family.

A family can also be born from care, protection, and the choice to welcome.

Animals show us every day relationships that deserve to be observed and respected.

Mia today: a new life with her family

Many things have changed since that first day.

Mia has grown up. She plays, explores, and shares her days with Pretty, Lucy, and Desy. That little kitten who arrived alone now has a family and a home where she can live protected.
