Bello is a small kitten with a huge heart. His story is linked to Boris and his wife, two tourists from the United States, who found him in trouble and chose not to turn away.
Even though they were far from home, they took care of him with great sensitivity, protecting him and looking for a safe place for him.

💚 The encounter that changed his destiny
Bello was tiny and vulnerable. He needed someone to notice him and decide to help him.
Boris and his wife became that someone. They welcomed him, protected him, and lovingly cared for him until Bello could reach the Sotto la Panca Sanctuary.
Their encounter, which happened during a trip, turned into a gesture capable of forever changing an animal's life.
🤲 The moment of entrustment
When it was time to say goodbye, Boris entrusted Bello to the Sanctuary, knowing that he would find protection, care, and a safe home for life there.
For Boris and his wife, it wasn't just the rescue of a kitten. It was the encounter with a small life that needed them at that very moment.
🏡 Bello's new life at Villa Gatta
Bello will live at Villa Gatta with Nico, Omero, Sbiadi, and the little dog Piccola. Here, he will be able to grow surrounded by companions, attention, and spaces organized around the needs of the animals living there.
For a puppy like Bello, living with other animals means being able to build relationships, learn, play, and become part of a stable community.
Bello is curious, sweet, and full of life. He is still very small but has already started to find his place in his new family.
🌿 What is Villa Gatta?
Villa Gatta is the historic heart of the Sotto la Panca Sanctuary's feline world and will be Bello's forever home.
It's not just a garden: it also includes the internal spaces of the villa, where cats can eat, sleep, rest, and find shelter in a domestic, safe, and protected environment.
From inside the house, the residents can access the Garden of Happy Cats: about 1,000 square meters of protected green space, bordered by high walls and organized around their daily needs.
In the garden, there is the Cats' Table, where food is served and where a large part of the community gathers every day. There is also the Cats' Kitchen, a separate space where the smallest, shyest, and those at risk of being pushed away by more dominant companions can eat peacefully.
Under a large protected canopy is the Night Area, while a small wooden house filled with straw offers further shelter during winter.
Residents can thus choose whether to stay inside the house or spend time outdoors, moving between indoor environments, sheltered areas, and green spaces.
Villa Gatta is not simply a place that hosts cats: it is a real home and a small feline community, with its own balances, friendships, habits, and spaces.
Here, Bello will grow up with Nico, Omero, Sbiadi, and the little dog Piccola, becoming part of their family.

Not all cats have the same character, history, or relationship with humans. For this reason, the Sanctuary has not created a single space for everyone, but different environments designed to respect the needs of each individual.
🏡 Villa Gatta
It is the historic heart of our feline world: a real home with internal rooms and access to the Garden of Happy Cats, about 1,000 square meters of protected green space. Residents can choose between the villa's spaces, sheltered areas, and the garden. This is the home chosen for Bello.
🐈 Casa Gatta
It is the Home of Mothers and Feline Families: a three-story villa with ample internal spaces and a protected outdoor terrace, where mothers, cubs, brothers, and sisters can continue to live together.
🌿 The Feline Oasis
It is the Sanctuary's territory dedicated to more independent cats, who find water, food, shelter, and protection while maintaining the freedom to choose where to move, where to sleep, and when to approach.
They are different places, but united by the same idea: to offer every cat security, care, and stability for life, respecting their character, relationships, and nature.
