Dining for a Difference: How Sicilian NQ Is Supporting Sotto la Panca
In a world where hospitality is often focused only on food, trends and social media, some businesses are trying to create something more meaningful.
This June, Sicilian NQ, an independent Sicilian restaurant in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, launched “Dining for a Difference”, a fundraising initiative supporting Santuario Sotto la Panca ODV, an animal sanctuary currently being developed in Sicily, beneath Mount Etna.
The initiative was launched in celebration of National Animal Rights Day and reflects a growing belief that restaurants, hospitality businesses and local communities can also contribute to positive social and ethical impact.
From Manchester to Sicily
Although separated by thousands of miles, Sicilian NQ and Sotto la Panca share the same Sicilian roots.
The sanctuary project was founded with the goal of creating a safe place for animals rescued from abandonment, exploitation and slaughter.
