Confidentials Manchester recounts Sicilian NQ's support for Sanctuary Under the Arches
Santuario Sotto la Panca is delighted to share a wonderful mention received from Confidentials Manchester, one of Manchester's most well-known editorial platforms for covering restaurants, events, local culture, and independent initiatives.
On June 4, 2026, Confidentials Manchester published an article dedicated to the charity initiative promoted by Sicilian NQ, a Sicilian restaurant in Manchester's Northern Quarter, in support of animals rescued by our sanctuary in Sicily.
The article, titled “Help animals in Sicily by dining out this June”, covers the Dining for a Difference campaign, organized throughout June to coincide with National Animal Rights Day, celebrated on June 7.
Throughout the month, diners at Sicilian NQ can concretely help rescued animals in two simple ways:
- by adding an optional £1 donation per table, which Sicilian NQ matches with an additional £4, making it a total donation of £5 to the sanctuary;
- by choosing the special three-course Vegan Set Menu for £25, of which £5 is directly donated to Santuario Sotto la Panca.
When dining becomes also a responsibility
For us, this initiative holds deep meaning. It's not just about fundraising, but a concrete way to demonstrate that even a restaurant can choose which side to be on.
Sicilian NQ is an independent business founded in Manchester with deep Sicilian roots and an increasingly conscious approach to ethical, plant-based cuisine. The restaurant chose to support our sanctuary because it believes that food should not be separated from respect for animals, the environment, and social responsibility.
Every dish served during this initiative therefore becomes more than just a meal: it becomes a small gesture of solidarity towards animals that have experienced abandonment, suffering, or exploitation.
